I am a fan of your band since 1980 and I already saw you once in Strasbourg at the 10th May 1997 and it was really extra , but at the same time, I felt a little bit sad cause there was someone missing on the scene. Mark is really talentuous, he sings very well but his voice isn't Roger's voice!! I have one dream for the next century: it is to see You and Roger together on stage. And, if possible, just come in FRANCE !! So RICK, have a nice day and a happy new year!! My best regards FRANCK

Hi mister Davis, I'm a musician from France, playing in a band called XII Alfonso. At the moment we're working on our third album, a concept album about Claude Monet's life, and we would be very happy to have you singing on a song about the period when Monet was living in London. If you wish to listen to demos of "Claude Monet" (or to the music we've done in the past), I'd be glad to send it to you. I'll look forward to hearing from you very soon, With best wishes, Philippe Claerhout Address : 1 bis chemin de Redouls 47300 Villeneuve sur Lot France

Hi Roger ! Finally (at 33 and a little money) I will have the opportunity to see you on tour in Paris on Nov. 10 (Olympia). I saw the band on tour only a few years ago after having missed the best concerts in the early 80s (too young and so poor ...). Just hope that it is not the last time ! You (both and separate)remain my favourite artists and the best singers and songwriters I have ever heard. See you in Paris !

I have only visited one of your concerts. It was in Stockholm May 1983- marvelous! Since then it is neartheheart-music , for me. The lyrics and the harmoni in the music, does it all. I would wish thou, that You for one time (at least)would reunite to play the songs we all love. On our wedding I sung "Downstream" togheter with my wife (previously not a fan of yours). Since then she is hooked also. . . but . . but it wasn't as good as reakfast in America. With Love and Admiration/ Stig

Rick, Roger How are you doing. I hope both of you just fine. In fact I'd like to beg you to come back to SUPERTRAMP as old times. At the end of 1998, I was watching a movie about band. I saw a couple interviews with supertramp's menbers. Great old songs. I loved it. But the final tape, I was so sad, because the ann uncer sad that the time is over. It is a bad sound to hear that, don't you think? I tried do figure out it forever but I can't. In 1980 I heard a perfect sound of music. It's name SUPERTRAMP's songs. So I can't imagine SUPERTRAMP separated. Now I'm plugge at Internet and is my special time find you again. So I beg both of you give a chance for yours fans to hear a great songs from of you. Think. We're close to new century and millenium, and You have a duty to imortalit a name in new fans because you're am nzing

Roger, I had the opportunity to see you when you came to North Bay, Ontario Canada, last July 15, 1998. I could not believe that such a small town such as us would feature such an incredible performer such as yourself. This is usually reserved for larger enues. I heard your spot on the local radio station at which point you mentioned that as you swept through on your Canadian tour, you felt that you should go back through and try some of the smaller locations. That was an altruistic gesture on your part. Not many perfomers of your calibre would have the decency to do that. Anyway, to make a long story even longer... I thought your performance was the best I've ever attended. Simply put, because there was so much in it for me personaly. I've loved what you ve done for many years and still do. Your music has a lot of meaning for me. I know that you will never read this and I'm okay with that, but feel that it's just something I want to say. Ever since I heard "School", it brought back memories of my mother s anding in the window watching me walk to school. When I would get to the end of the road, I would always turn and see her waving at me. I would always wave back. Years later, in high school, the bus taking us there would be parked right outside her bedroo window. As the bus would pull away she would always wave. As cool as i thought I was at the time, I always waved back. Years later as your music continued, it still had an impact on us with "Oh Lord Is It Mine". My mother and I would sit there and sing along to this song. Later on I was able to convince a travel ing band, who covered your music to learn this song for my mom and I. They did. (The band and I are still friends and I have done the artwork for their first album cover). When I first heard your solo album, I was overwhelmed. With the second(Hai Hai), I was overcome. Especially with the song "Puppet Dance". When I saw you In North Bay in July of 98', it was a fairly small crowd. I was about 12 feet away from you, and when you asked us for requests, it was on the tip of my toungue to yell out "Puppet Dance". You see at that time, I was aware that my mom was dying of cancer. She passed away April 29, of this year. I'll hold your music close to my heart because she loved it as much as I did. I wished she could have heard you doing that song about being an animal and having a choice of dying or being caged up f r the rest of your life. The thing I will miss, is the fact that we can't sing your songs together any longer. Thank you for the feelings.

Dear all, This is one of my oldest and dearest memories: I remember a small child...(... I know what you’re thinkin’...) I remember how he used to climb that cabinet (... See what you’re seein’...)so he could reach for the vinyl records and then (...) pick up the one with the bars floating in the stars... I remember him listening to it on the “Dual” turntable (standing besi e me as I write this words) over and over again, endlessly... Although the words were put a side, I remember him singing along. The world seemed full of music... (If everyone was listening, you know...) That mysterious brand new record that is father had just recently bought still exists and is also standing beside me, although the tracks aren’t in the same condition as they once were, I still sometimes rather prefer to listen to it than the new age CD. enjoy waiting for those same old jumps between the words as they were made two decades ago. Precision on handling the turntable arm was never achieved by that time...(... Don’t do this and don’t do that!!!) It all happened in 1974... The small child was 3 years old, and always lived inside of me. As time went by, other records surged... Elton John’s “Don’t shoot me I’m only the piano player”; “Crisis! What Crisis?”; Dire Straits’s “Dire Straits” and a few more that I can hardly remember... By the time “Breakfast in America” and the “Wall” were released I was about to begin high school. And when Supertramp finally came to Portugal (one week before the Paris concerts) I had no one who could tell me that the band that had made the music of my hildhood would be playing in two live concerts, so I missed both concerts. And that was my “Crime of the Century”! Between 1979 and 1985 I completely forgot Supertramp, don’t ask me why! I most often listened to Dire Straits than anything else. I even remember the Cannonball video clip and, although I could find it surprisingly familiar, I couldn’t make any connection to my childhood’s only favourite band. This black period in my Supertramp life story ended in 1986 when I was in a summer camp lying in my bed, falling at sleep (...dream dream dream dream dream along...), after an exhausting day. The guys from the room next to mine were listening to some old tapes, which I could listen through the wooden walls. And then... Magic happened! The most familiar and intriguing, sweetest and enchanting notes were being played on one harmonica; then came the guitar; then the voice (I can see you in the morning...); finally the band joined in apotheoses, awaking long lost dreams and memories of th past... (-You’re comin’ along!) I jumped out of my bed, went into their room and started shouting:-“I know that! I know that song!... What is that ?!?! Who are they ?!?!?!?!?!?” I sat along and sang every song from the beginning to the end, without being able to pronounce a single word. I didn’t know the lyrics! (They were staring at me, speechless...) I asked someone to describe me the cover of the record, and one said:-“It’s got stars all over and...); “Two hands gripping floating jail bars”- I interrupted. I borrowed his tape, which I listened over and over again, endlessly... From that day, I knew that Supertramp would always be with me, in my life, as it had always been, since 74. Thank you SAM! Hi Rick ! I like your music definitifly more than Roger´s but nevertheless I hope that there´ll be a possibility to work together again. That would be a big sensation. It would be a benefit for Supertramp if Rick & Roger worked together. Sorry Rick but it have to b said. Please make a last step to Roger. Try to make a compromise. One suggestion. Sometimes I feel your songs could have been arranged closer. Sometimes they lose power respectively could have gain more power when they were arranged with more fulfilling instruments (e.g. backround keyboards). Look at "You Win I lose" - his song just gets its power at the end (after ther clarinet solo). I also want to say that sometimes your songs tend to have a little bit of a tearjerker. It also has somthing to do with the arrangements of instruments I think. Use more the old saxophone of songs like "My Kind Of Lady" or "The Logical Song". So take care of it. Greetings from a big fan of you. Yours Markus.

Hi! I know this is the kind of thing that may take a long time in planning and there's just about a month left before the new year comes around but 1999 will mark the 25th anniversary of "Crime" and the 20th of "Breakfast"... Can you really let something ike that go by without any special celebration? Rick and Roger... I really don't expect a new album anytime soon or anything but it really would be great if you could do a special tour together with Supertramp to mark this occasion. Maybe just a few dates... London, Los Angeles, Paris, New York... I'd ly anywhere to see that... and Montreal wouldn't be such a bad idea either! Those albums marked our lives as much as they did yours and I'm sure it would be as much fun for you as it would be for us... just... think about it ok? All the best....

Dear friends, I had never tought that someday i could thank you by the wonderful messages inside marvelous musics you two brought to us. Sometimes i wonder wether you do still believe in the things you wrote down and sing. I guess you do ! This month, i were on Roger's show in Belo Horizonte. It was a wonderful, memorable show. Also, in the beggining of the 90's, i went to see Supertramp (without Roger) in Rio de Janeiro. These were some of the mistical experiences of my life. I grew up lis ening your songs and believing that the world could be better, and you tell us it in songs like "The logical song", "Lord is it mine", "Crime of the century", "Hide in your shell", "Two of us", and many others. I sometimes try to show to my son, and to th "children of vision" generation, that there was a time when some people knew how to make music... You are some of the most last-longing references i had, and one of the few that hasn't changed through the years. Thank you, Renato

Hi Rick, Doug, John, Roger, and Bob!!! I'd like to tell you that I really enjoy your songs. I also would like to ask you a big favor: don't stop releasing new albuns!!! A band like Supertramp Should never die or be left behind! Come on, you guys, you made me crazy about you, so now "I AM BEGGING YOU". Rick, you are simply terrific in the piano and keyboard! The opening in "Rude" is wonderful. I also love the opening of "Bloody well right". The piano in "Crime of the century" is historical: plim plim plim plim plim plim plim plim..... . Oh my God, if I were to write down all the amazing works you did, I would be here for a long time! John, I love your sax! You are the spirit of Supertramp! Your solos in "From now on", "Crime", and a lot more are wonderful. I liked when you started playing Dreamer in the Supertramp Famous last words tour in Toronto, Canada. Then, Scott Page and Fred Mandel took you away from the keyboard. Man, you are really good. Do you remember? Doug, I liked your work on Give a little bit, Fools overture, oh God, this song is wonderful, very impressive. I also liked the bass in School, and Cannonball. I'd like to see you playing a bass solo, though Bob, your drum has a really different sound. The drums on "Crime", If everyone was listening", had a pretty strong beat. I'd like to see you playing a drum solo, though. Roger, Man, your voice is really cool! I think "Hide in your Shell" and "Even in the quietest moments" are very emotional, they are extremely beautiful melodically and lirically! The beginning of "Even" with the acoustic guitar along with John's flute has a peaceful melody , and gives me the impressio of being in a farm, in the country side, in an early morning. "Dreamer is a very original and creative song. Your voice and the way you play the keyboards are very good complements that result in a pretty cool song. Alive, this song gets even better with the more active Bob's percussion. I love "Babaji". And my sister love your guitar solo in "Crime of the century", and the song "Soapbox opera". Rick, you said that you didin't like the result of "Free as a bird", but I loved all ten tracks! "Brother where you bound" is very cool! I loved the work of all 4 of you in that album. Well, that is it. It is difficult to me to pick my favourite album. It depends on my mood to choose which song I want to listen. You guys are my idols. No other band touches more my feelings than Supertramp. Thank you for your songs! Celio, your forever fan.

Hello, My name is Ben Haemhouts and I work for Music Publisher "BERIATO" in Belgium. I am also a professional musician. We are a very small company who spread wind music in Belgium and a part of Holland. I am since several years a fan of Supertramp and also played with them a few years ago in het" Sportpaleis" of Antwerp during "The Night Of The Proms". I was one of the tromboneplayers in the orchestra. A friend of mine made an arrangement of "The Logical Song" for wind and brassband. For the copyright I contacted IMP in Londen and talked to Sarah Weller who told me that Supertramp did not want us to publish "The Logical Song". The problem is, we first had to make this arrangement to show it to them. Then we tought that it was going to be ok because we dind't hear anything during several months. So we created already parts and scores. We only publish about 15 titles a year and sell about 150 sets all together a year. So we are really small.I would have expected us to sell about 15-20 sets of 'The Logical Song". It's not a matter of copyright either because Supertramp would always stay the owner of the rights. And we are ofcourse paying for the permission to publish a certain number of sets. It is the first time we end up getting no permission for an arrangement. Could someone help me please. Otherwise a lot of effort is lost creating these scores. Thank you and hopefully I will get an answer. Ben Haemhouts.

I went to the two shows you made in my country (in Alsace, France) at Strasbourg 05/10/98 and at Mulhouse 10/22/98, and both times I was just in front of the stage. Maybe you remember me, at Mu house when you annonced the song "Breakfast in America" you said "this song is so famous that you can sing along... comme monsieur" and this "monsieur" was me, I was singing all songs during all the show, because I have all Supertramp's albums, and I love you music! I have made on Internet the first personnal homepage dedicated to Supertramp and Roger Hodgson from France, it's simply called "Supertramp France". Roger + Rick: Hi hi hi! Supertramp has a special place in my heart. It's been played in my house since I was born and is just... there. It has the ability to bring up incredible memories of my childhood. 'Logical Song' was especially reminiscent of a ifficult period in my life. I felt like I was being forced in a direction I didn't want to go and 'Logical Song' helped me get out of that. This is the effect you've had... Thanks, guys. Unhappily due to a terrible stupid mistake, we (the webmasters) lost almost 20 messages left during the period of november/02 to december/19. I'm really sorry !!! But I think that "sooner or later" the fans will fill this section with a lot of wonderful new messages for you all ! Well, I know that you will receive these messages after Christmas, but I'm sure that every fan in the world (and believe me, there are a lot of them) wants to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a fantastic 1998 !!! During this year of 1997, you gave us fabulous gifts: "Some Things Never Change", "Rites of Passage" and "It's About Time Tour". I read a lot of stupid comments about both albums, but believe me, such people are really not real Supertramp fans ! A true fa loves Rick's music and Roger's music. A true fan loves the "old" Supertramp and the "new" Supertramp. A true fan accepts the fact that Rick and Roger want to go on with different projects (... perhaps, in the future, you shall present us a new meeting... . I'd like to speak in the name of all Supertramp/Roger Hodgson sites (...almost all of them are written by REAL Supertramp fans...) and in the name of all the real "Very Important Fans" (VIF...hehehe... ridiculous !!!) that I had the pleasure to meet here n the Internet... people like: Doug Atkinson, Sarah Smith, Sylvain Dicaire, Tony Weems, Jordi Sabater, José Antonio, Guillermo Puente, Jorge Cassinello, Andy Cool, Tim Tjernlund, Trond Gronvold, Andrea Grasso, Sébastien Morin, Torkjel Austad, Chris Davies Daniel (from Israel), Marcelo Ville, etc... (impossible to write all the names). All I wanna say is that: WE LOVE YOU ALL !!! Your music is our life... we use to spend hours and hours of our free time during the weekends chatting about you !!! We are proud to be your fans, cause you're very very special guys !!!... and if you're special, we're too, cause we've got YOU inside our hearts !!! God bless you and all your families !!! "... hope you go on shining...shining like brand new..."

Rick I love the new lineup! I saw you 5 (five) times this summer. Great shows. Next time come Closer to Indianapolis. I was wondering if I could get some autographs? I was hoping to get some in Canada, but had no luck. And a message to John: do you have o ly one pair of socks? I'd gladly help you buy some more! Gold Toe are pretty nice! Come join out chats some time. Merry Christmas and Happy New year. Oh yeah, and get the Paris films out so we can have a copy! I would do anything for a live Paris video.

I loved "Some Things Never Change" and "Rites of Passage", but when will you be together again ? I missed "Free as a Bird" tour in 1988, I was just a little kid, I didn't know the magic of Supertramp. Some months ago I talked to Walter (what a lucky guy !!), and he said that you love Brazil and were planning to come back to Brazil ! Please, don't give up ! All I want is to see you live, in front of me, playing "School", "Ain't Nobody But Me", "The Logical Song", "Bloody Well Right", "Breakfast in America , "You Started Laughing", "Hide in Your Shell", "From Now On", "Dreamer", "Rudy", "A Soapbox Opera", "Asylum" (my all time favourite !!!), "Take the Long Way Home", "Fool's Overture", "Two of Us", "Crime of the Century", "Goodbye Stranger", "BetterDays" "Cannonball", "Waiting So Long","Don't Leave Me Now", "My Kind of Lady", "In Jeopardy", "Free as a Bird", "Listen to Me Please", "Live to Love You", "C'est What" and many many others... Sorry, I know that is a long message, but is smaller than my admiration for Supertramp... Happy 1998 !!!

It was great to see you get a little more room on Some Things. I hope you'll get even more on the next album! I read somewhere that you had an offer to tour with Sheryl Crow but turned it down because the Supertramp offer to rejoin the band came at the sa e time... Well, I can't thank you enough for choosing to come back to "our" band! I think you made the right choice... "Sooner Or Later" is a great song and your solo is one of the best ones I've ever heard!

Thank you for getting the band together again after all these years! I really like the jazz influences on Some Things and I'm wondering who your influences are? Miles is an obvious one when it comes to some of the ensemble parts but I'm wondering who's pl ying influenced your own playing the most? Who do you listen to? I'd really like to see you come out with a solo album some day. Maybe a few of your own songs and a few jazz standards... And when I say solo I really mean solo. Just you and the piano would be great. Then again, a duet album with a saxophonist (hint :-) would be just as good... or maybe even a trio! Well, whichever setting you would choose I'm sure it could only result in great music anyway. But make sure you keep the band going and come up ith a Supertramp record every now and then! :-)

Hi all! The other day I broadcasted (in a very local radio station I have a program on) a song by John Mayall's album Empty Rooms. The song was Something New, but the whole long play is brilliant, pure rhythm and blues! In some aspects the album reminds m of Supertramp's style, Rick. Have you ever had something to do with John Mayall? Have you ever met him? Don't you think you have some things in common? Cheers! Jorge

Hello Rick, I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all of the joy your music continues to bring. You have managed to find some wonderful musicians to join the 'new' Supertramp, and it is really good to have you back with a great new album and a fantasti tour set. 'Another Man's Woman' in concert is such a musical treat - I just love it! Please don't let it be another nine years before the next album and tour! By the way, I was at your concert in Sheffield, England, and I noticed something that looked like a camcorder at the side of the stage. Were you recording the show? And if so, is there any possibility that you might release the film? Anyway, I'll close this message by wishing you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Love to you and Sue Sarah

Do you hold the rights to all unreleased Supertramp material such as songs that didn't make it to albums or alternate takes of old songs we all know? If you do, I think it would be great if you could release some of them. Hearing different versions of son s we've known and loved for years would really give us fans a great insight into your writing process and seeing how the songs evolve from a first concept into what finally gets released on the albums.
